Been a long, long time!!

Venturing my way back here. Hope you all are doing well and obviously you all are still alive and kicking! Lots has happened over the years since I've been gone but I won't bore you with the details although some are quite funny!!!

Haven't given up on photography although I don't do as much as I did previously. Still in my blood! Will try and get on here more but looks like things have changed and may take me a bit to get use to it!

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I'll fill those of you that are interested in on all the fun that has occurred over the past .... well however many years it has been! Have missed you all!!

WOW!  It's been 5 years since :iconprosepetals: wrote her notorious journal "Must love dogs" prosepetals.deviantart.com/art… which she reminded me of today.  5 years...WOW!!  Time flies when you're having a life and enjoying it!! :)

To those that are wondering, I am better than I have been in many, many years.  I'm happy, I'm healthy and I'm so glad to be rid of the mess my life was in 5 years ago.  You know, sometimes you really don't realize how miserable you had  become until you're out of it.  

I guess the moral of the story is, some people really do wind up with the dog ;)

Life seems to throw us all curve balls and sometimes they seem to hit us upside the head pretty hard.  I know we've all gone through that.  Long and short of it, we all survive and keep plugging away!

I'm "reviving" Justaminute but I won't have the time to put hours and hours into DA like I have in the past.  

The big cats are here again...YEAH and this tired old body is aching today after setting up the cages.  Of course :iconaokibengal: was there yesterday too.  He's like me, can't keep him away!! :giggle:  He enjoys it as much as me ;)  They brought quite a collection as now they have a wildlife preserve going although their main emphasis is still on the big cats.  I haven't gotten a lot of pics yet but of course that will change.  They even have a snake which of course I vowed not to touch but of course I was put in a situation of "Jan, grab his tail!!!" and of course I did.  So much for the "not touching the snake" I guess!

Anyway, lots of changes have been happening in my life and after the tigers I head for South Carolina with my Mom.  She hasn't been down there since 93 so she's pretty excited.  I haven't been there since 84 so I'm ready for some boiled peanuts (and to see all my cousins etc).  Should be a good time.  I'll get back from there and will be packing to move (just across town).  Never a dull moment I tell ya!

Still here...different account

I am still on deviantart but have moved to a different account.  Basically I just needed to start over.  So much has happened in the last few years and as much as I love being "justaminute", I have chosen to go to another account.  If you're looking for me, you'll find me at :iconchocolateandcoffee: (the two things I just can't seem to get through a day without!)  Maybe one day I'll come back here...just not sure at this point. Miss you all!!

Walking down memory lane

First of all, thanks to all of you for the kindness you have shown me during this time of loss....thank you! :hug:

With all that has gone on recently, I'm finding myself going back through pictures that I haven't looked at in quite some time.  I also have brought back a lot of photos from my Mom's to scan and get saved.  Kind of a healing process I think.

I've gone back into the photos of August 2006 which was the first time I got to spend time with the big cats and the baby ones too.  Talk about memories and a time of my life I will always treasure.  I took over 2,000 pictures during those 11 days...I'm enjoying going back in time.

I'm posting some of those pictures.  Hope you enjoy them ....
